Travel Grant Program for Early Career Scholars

The National Supporting Committee of the IGU-TC Osaka 2023 will offer travel grants (Yen equivalent to USD 500 to 1,000 per person depending on travel distance or a registration fee waiver) to assist early career — non-full-time or non-faculty — scholars in attending the Conference. Due to financial limits, this grant will be given to several selected applicants (those who give a single-authored paper preferred). Virtual participants can apply only for a registration fee waiver.

To be eligible for a grant, applicants must submit their abstract (200 to 250 words) on the Call for Abstract site and their paper’s description (maximum 500 words) on this site by October 15. The application form (see below) must contain year degree earned, academic status, gender, nationality or citizenship (applicants from non-OECD countries preferred), and a signed endorsement letter. Review results will be notified by October 31. We will award grants in Yen cash at the Conference

To apply for the grant, please fill out the following form. Any personal information collected on this site will not be disclosed outside the Committee. The applicant’s abstract must be submitted to the Call for Abstracts site. If you have any questions about this program, please contact us.

The call for grant applications was closed on October 15, 2022.
