Osaka City is the third-largest city in Japan and the center of Western Japan. Osaka is connected to the world as well as the rest of Japan through the Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Osaka (Itami) International Airport (ITM). Both are sometimes called the “Osaka” airport but located at different places with different functions. ITM is more frequently used by those flying from the Narita or Haneda Airport in the Tokyo area. KIX and ITM are connected to Osaka City University through different transportation routes within 90 minutes. The bullet train (Shinkansen) stops at the northern part of Osaka (the Shin-Osaka station), from which it takes one hour to get to the university by train.
